CoCo-Pi Project Update (2026-01-04)
Once again, I’ve been neglecting the use of this website for project news/status. Most activity happens within Discord these days but I really feel a web site home is still the best place to keep everyone updated so I plan on doing a better job.
The CoCo-Pi project is very much alive and I’ve been keeping up with development during my free time. You can track that progress here:
https://github.com/mrgw454/CoCo-Pi-Installer/tree/debian13
I’ve moved to the latest version of Debian (13 trixie). While this github repository is for my “CoCo-Pi Installer”, it’s what I use to build the SD card release image that regular users of the CoCo-Pi project have come to know over the years.
I’ve very close to that release — should be by the end of the month.
There’s quite a few news things that will be included in the latest CoCo-Pi release. In no particular order and certainly not a complete list would include:
Latest version of CoCo/Dragon/MC-10 emulators (MAME, XRoar, trs80gp, OVCC)
Latest development tools/applications (BASIC-to-6809, ugBASIC and the other usual suspects (lwtools, toolshed, etc.).
Storage options galore — pyDriveWire, Legacy JAVA DriveWire, FujiNet-PC, tnfs server, etc.
For those of you not using a Raspberry Pi, you can enjoy the benefits/features of the CoCo-Pi project and most anything that can run Debian 13. This can include a wide variety of SBC’s, laptops, WSL under Windows 11 — list goes on and on.
In the meantime, Happy New Year to everyone!
